Angélique Kpasseloko Hinto Hounsinou Kandjo Manta Zogbin Kidjo, popularly known as known as Angélique Kidjo took to stage in the first live music show in France with all the safety procedures in place.
"Le grand échiquier", French TV's programme presented by Jacques Chancel, is reborn in a new version presented by Anne-Sophie Lapix. Artists from different horizons show a new aspect of themselves and tell us who makes them dream and inspires them.

Angélique took to her social media pages to share of the event and highlight some of the nights performances. The event was held live in tribute to the true father of modern African music Manu Dibango.
Emmanuel N'Djoké "Manu" Dibango was a Cameroonian musician and songwriter who played Saxophone and vibraphone. He pioneered and developed a musical style fusing jazz, funk, and traditional Cameroonian music.

Just a few hours before going live, Kidjo had a moment to share with Google Doodle in celebrating an ancient African instrument, the mbira!.
In addition she posted," I’m here with the great David Byrne of Talking Heads, whose album “Remain In Light” I reimagined in 2018. “Listening Wind,” the seventh track on the album, features the warm twangs of the mbira.

Listen closely to hear its beautiful sound. Play the mbira for yourself on the Google homepage and learn more about the history and culture of Zimbabwe’s national instrument"
