It took long for someone to dedicate a video or single to ‘Touching’ and it has finally happened. Harry Styles has released his new single ‘Watermelon Sugar’ and it is dedicated to touching.
‘Watermelon Sugar’ is a feel good single that really explains the high that is the elite fruit watermelon and in this context, love. We bet Harry Styles was in a good or reminiscent space when he was writing this particular single.
The audio is on a feel good beat which is channeling some 70’s Motown pop sound and a stripped down rock rhythm. It is from Harry Styles’ 2019 album ‘Fine Line’ which carried this 70s vibe in its entirety. Harry Styles cruises through it with some soft vocals and almost stays on one range even when doing the harmonies. He is however very melodic about this delivery which keeps the groovy sound of the song.
The video is really a reminder for us all of days before Corona when hugging whoever, smooching whoever, sharing food and really being in a crowd felt like. We watch Harry surrounded by a bevy of beauties on the beach. There are watermelons everywhere in the video. It really makes you miss outside and touching.
