You ever listened to a song that really calms you? That is what Phil Kimemia and Celestine Gachuhi (Cee) are giving us with their new single ‘Nena Nami’.

‘Nena Nami’ is Swahili for ‘speak with me’. This is a prayer in a song asking God to speak with you as you are in a space of waiting.

Phil Kimemia stepped onto the scene with his guitar and killer vocals; we have known him as the Wagithomo who gives us the best acoustics. We know Cee from the popular show ‘Selina’ and we watch her singing occasionally on her YouTube channel and her Instagram. The combination of these two is mad pipes and acoustics.

Phil Kimemia keeps his signature acoustic sound which is very much in line with this song. It gives room for both Phil and Cee to run their vocals as wild as they possibly can; and they both show off with nicely paced high-pitched vocals and the notes they run are well synchronized. They however still maintain the minimalistic touch of the single.

The video takes us through the making of the single from day one to the said day of shooting the video. We watch them running through some vehicle trouble and in their own portrayal, God coming through for them.

Catch this acoustic and minimalist vibe with Phil Kimemia and Cee on ‘Nena Nami’.
