Ugandan artiste and vocalist Lilian Mbabazi has dropped a new song dubbed ‘This Love’ addressing the issue of Gender Based Violence.

'This Love' is a collaboration with the US Mission in Uganda, and addresses violent relationships especially against girls and women.

In the new release, she explains how a love once sweet, turned into something sour and unbearable with a man physically abusing his woman.

"In collaboration with US Mission Uganda, I Lilian Mbabazi have lent my voice to raise more awareness and join the fight against Gender Based Violence.. This Love is a song that talks about what it means to be in a relationship that is abusive and calling it love.. Let’s end Gender Based Violence today,” she said while introducing the song.

The video perfectly illustrates the GBV vice between a young couple, while Lilian dressed in all black showcases her powerful vocals while delivering this emotional message.

Gender-based violence (GBV) or Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), is a global pandemic that affects 1 in 3 women in their lifetime.

The numbers increase each day compelling many influential people to come up and address the issue. Since musicians are story tellers, there is no better way to convey a message to the public than through a song
