We have all been loving Khaligraph’s brother Lamz Span KOB since he first stepped on our necks real hard with his verse on their collaborative hit single ‘Siogopi’. He is back even harder with his newest single ‘Scorpion’.
‘Scorpion’ is Lamaz stamping his foot on being one of the best in the Kenyan hip-hop scene. Him using an animal as lethal as a scorpion is really in line with what he wants to communicate and many refer to him as that anyway. Lamaz dares to state his position by name-calling the best in the scene and trashing those not on his list; hip-hop is really about this.
The video is shot using spotlights to highlight whoever is needed in the frame against a dark background. The director cuts to scenes of Lamaz training hard for the ring but for this context to mark his territory in the industry.
Lamaz really takes time to master and create his lyrics and it is evident in the many bars he drops in the song. He is a great lyricist and he has mastered his flow while at it which then makes his delivery very well executed without missing a beat. He has for this song, that is laid on a very solid hip-hop beat layered his bars in a very fast pace and you have to follow him to know what he is talking about; although he is very articulate.
I don’t know how much you like saying the ‘ahuuu!’ when Lamaz says it but you will definitely enjoy it in ‘Scorpion’. Catch a vibe with Lamaz Span KOB on ‘Scorpion’.
