As good Samaritans have come out to donate to the different sectors in the entertainment industry during this lock down, the leader of gospel artistes in Uganda has also called for support.

In an interview with Spark TV, Dennis Lanek called upon all well-wishers and every one that enjoys gospel music in Uganda to come out and donate food to gospel artistes struggling during this hard time.

"We have artistes who have jobs and have been working, but due to this lock down situation, they are at home. We have artistes who are full time ministers but are currently not serving because churches are now closed. I call upon the President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni, concerned MPs, all pastors, all well-wishers and fans of gospel music to come out and help our artists."

"I'm receiving messages and calls from different artistes asking for food to eat saying the government has abandoned them. I shared with them the little I had. I reached out to many pastors but I was disturbed when only one pastor responded to my call. I call upon all pastors to come out and help our artists in Uganda. We do not need money, only food," he said.

So far, a number of musicians, DJs and producers have received relief food from top Ugandan artistes.
