H.E.R has been treating us to some amazing acoustic since the release of her last album and it could be that her next album will be an acoustic album. She released her new single ‘Wrong Places’ and it is as beautiful as what we have been getting from her acoustic releases.

‘Wrong Places’ is about repeatedly getting heartbroken yet still wanting to find a love that feels like home. The whole process of seeking within you for ways to find love where you can find it.

The single is arranged in a very acoustic manner. It starts off with only a guitar, progresses to snaps and eventually a light bass is added on the snaps but the guitar remains. This makes it a little busier than a normal acoustic but the guitar maintains this status.

H.E.R has quite a unique alternative voice; well smoothed out and raspy in equal measure. She uses much of her head voice to put down the song on the beat. She is also very soulful about how she delivers every lyric on beat.

Should you need to add music to how you wind up over this quarantine, this song is without doubt it. Catch a vibe with H.E.R on ‘Wrong Places’.
