Must watch hip hop cypher!! Zakah Wenyeji leads his lyrical army
16 July 2014
“Son, it doesn’t matter how many times you fall. What matters is how many times you manage to pick yourself up” my Dad would always tell me. And now it makes more sense ever since rapper and Ukoo Flani member, Zakah graced the music scene once more.
He was featured in a recent cypher by On Air Entertainment along 11 rap cats and the hip hop
veteran Zaka Wenyeji confirms he's still a force to reckon with his lyricism prowess, "shuhudia maajabu ka vitanda za lodging"
"I love supporting the industry so hawa upcoming artistes walini approach wakanishow they are doing a cypher and would want me to do the first verse ndo angalau niwa- push'' opened up Zakah.
That's not all. One of the artists on the cipher disses the “We Be Happening” hit maker, Khaligraph. "khali yuko mbio mindo kanjo ye ndo
hawker... Spin cycles mina spin figures" says Evaready.
The surprises don’t end there! It’s not strictly Hip hop, there is a hint of Dancehall on the cypher. Led by Ganjor, the dancehall team switches things with their Caribbean flow which makes things less monotonous.
All Ukoo Flani fans need not worry no more! That old feeling you had when you listened to your favourite records from back then, it’s all captured on this one video. Watch it by following the link below. I now can comfortably shout, "Hip Hop is alive! It's alive!"
