Ugandan dance group The Triplet Ghetto Kids are facing the wrath of social media users, after they publicly came out to reveal that they were too broke to afford food during this lock down.

During an interview on Spark TV, the group's manager, also caretaker, Kawuuma Dauda revealed that he is finding it difficult to feed all the children under his care, and he can't send them off because some of them do not have homes.

"We can barely survive because we currently do not have what to eat. The first 14 days of the lock down did not affect us so much but this 21 days extension is really difficult. We have consumed all the food and are currently left with nothing.

“I tried sending some children back to their parents who could afford something but some do not have where to go, so I'm stuck with them. We call upon the government and well-wishers to rescue us with some food," Dauda said.

This did not sit well with fans on social media, who noted that the group is over begging, considering the fact that they have been receiving donations from different people including a recent visit by Ugandan female artiste Spice Diana.

Following the group’s plea, a section of netizens trooped to their page, accusing the youngsters of begging all the time.

Some other fans compared the The Triplet Ghetto Kids to fellow dance group Masaka Kids Africana; who have not come out to beg for anything despite being in the industry for a short time.

This is not the first time The Triplet Ghetto Kids are coming out on the media asking for financial help.

Last year, they cried out to the public to help them raise 100 million Ugx to finish the balance on their mansion in order to avoid eviction.
