Kelly Rowland has been causing an online stir following the release of her new single ‘Coffee’ and more so the video. She had been teasing the release for a while and it was without doubt worth the wait.
‘Coffee’; as Kelly Rowland describes; is a call to celebrating one’s sexuality, individuality and imperfections. She hopes that it will be the reference song when one needs to get back to a point they feel beautiful.
The video celebrates the black woman as everyone in the video is a melanated queen with their hair out in every natural hair style possible. Everyone in the video, including Kelly Rowland is in clothing that is either nude to the shade of their skin or white to bounce off the melanin; simply beautiful.

The song is a fusion of Trap and RnB. This kind of beat just lays down the possibility for Kelly to either sing or rap or do both. Kelly sings over the beat but keeps up with a flow; in essence she is singing through a rap. The producer adds harmonies over the beat which compliment Kelly’s flow and really make the song/beat a lot softer.
