Before they became the figures that we see on our TV sets, entertaining and giving us the music we want, these artists actually had dreams.

Some of them had careers that they threw away and decided to pursue music.

If Ugandan artiste, Karole Kasita had not chosen music in her early life, she would be a medical doctor, at least going by her mother's wish.

In a recent interview, the sultry singer noted that her mother wanted her to practice medicine because while growing up, she was very kind to both people and animals.

But when she got to A level, she chose PEM (Physics, Economics and Maths), which was actually an engineering course far different from what her mum wanted.

"My mother wanted me to become a Doctor. I think it was because of my kindness towards people and animals. However, in A-Level, I offered PEM – which is an engineering combination." Karole said.

"I fell in love with music and singing when I was a child. I used to sing in front of my mother and siblings at home in our small living room. I was a very stubborn girl in high school and as well very bright. However, I never loved the idea of reading and revising books, so I always made sure that I paid maximum attention in class. I was always that popular girl in school and because of my naughtiness I got expelled from some schools," Karole said in an interview with NBS TV.

She later pursued music, though her mum wanted her to join the medical profession, which is considered one of the best careers worldwide.
