Kanjii Mbugua Drops New Single Off His Album Dubbed 'Holding On'

Kanjii Mbugua took some time last year to gift us with an amazing worship album dubbed ‘Set Us On Fire’. He has since been dosing us with one beautiful single after the other and we have been loving it so far. He has now released the single ‘Holding On’ off the album.
‘Holding On’ is a beautiful prayer and submission to God asking Him to use all of you because you are trusting in Him for every single thing.
The song is an ideal worship song in that, as much as it follows the traditional three verses and a chorus arrangement of a song, it has within it moments of repetition and the chorus is catchy and easy to follow through. Kanjii and the writers use excerpts from scripture and regularly used church sayings with an opening as strong as, “I’m holding on to love, that first loved me.” These two aspects make it an ideal worship song.

The instrumentation of the song progresses from an acoustic, with Kanjii singing over a ‘fading’ guitar to a busy and bass heavy beat and eventually to an even busier rock inspired beat from the last hook of the song. It eventually slows down for Kanjii and his background vocalists to harmonize their way to the last note of the song.
The song, just as the rest of the album, is Kanjii, his background vocalists and a full band before a crowd, live. It was done in Irvine, California.
