Ghanaian highlife musician, Ahenfo, has cleared the air on what he said about Kofi B after his death. According to reports the musician had been quoted to say Kofi B’s death was to pave way for him.
“Even though it’s sad that Kofi B has died, to me I think it’s good that he is dead because I believe God took his life to pave way for me to replace him…He was doing dormant singing the same type of singing I do. He died so that Ghanaians would also see the talent in me,” Ahenfo had said.
These and many others are quotes that can be seen in various media outlets across the country were being attributed to musician Ahenfo.
However, in an interview on Happy98.9FM’s Showbiz Xtra, Ahenfo disclosed that he “ was misquoted for saying God killed Kofi B to make me happy”.
According to him, the interview he had was in the local language, ‘twi’ and it is often not suprising that words are mostly lost in translation when some Ghanaian tabloids write in English.
He made this clarification after Belinda Obeng who is the younger sister of Kofi B, called for his arrest in order to ascertain the real motive behind his comments.
Kofi Boakye Yiadom, better known as Kofi B died on Sunday, February 2, 2020, prior to a scheduled performance at a concert in Cape Coast in the Central region.
