Sauti Sol is still out doing some press for their new hit single, ‘Suzanna’ and the interwebs are buzzing with everything Suzanna from dance routines to people rifting between people agreeing and disagreeing with the song.

First of, Suzanna is a very timely song with the increase in the number of women who are accessing plastic surgery to alter and accentuate their looks. There is the rift of men who are of the school of thought that they like the natural women better and there are those who don’t mind.

Now women are in getting involved and not in a very happy light. Most women are of the opinion that this song is another way of men policing what women do with their bodies with lyrics such as, “shaking what your doctor gave you.” Many women also feel that men are trying to police how women spend their time, on who and for what motives with lyrics referring to sponsors for Suzanna.

Beyond the song really, I think Sauti Sol are doing a real thing with their art by the mere fact that they have brought conversation; which is an important aspect of art. Also Suzanna, is a very fun and exciting song to jam to, catch a vibe.
