A statement from Buju Banton’s management team has since gone viral on social media platforms with many fans expressing their displeasure. According to the statement dated today (06.02.2020) and for immediate release, Buju will not be performing due to unavoidable circumstances.

Speaking to The Sauce, sources said that the concert has been postponed due to the planned public body viewing of the late former President Daniel Moi at Parliament buildings from Saturday through to Monday ahead of a national memorial service set for Tuesday at Nyayo National Stadium as reported by The Sauce.

The sources reiterated that the ‘Rasta Got Soul’ hitmaker had been paid and that it was all systems go for the event with the set up at KICC almost complete.

The organisers have announced the new concert details in a press release this afternoon. The reggae event will now be held on the 15th of February 2020 at KICC from 6 pm.

As previously reported by The Sauce, Buju Banton concert was originally scheduled for December 2019 in Mombasa but was later rescheduled to February 2020 in Nairobi following a huge outcry by fans.

Buju Banton whose real name is Mark Anthony Myrie aged 46 had been incarcerated for seven years prior to his release in late 2018.
