Rihanna to receive the President's Award at the 51st NAACP Awards

Rihanna has been named as this year’s recipient of the prestigious President’s Award at the 51st NAACP Awards. She follows in the footsteps of her mentor Jay Z who received the award at the 50th NAACP Awards.
Rihanna will be honoured for her overall reach in music, business and philanthropic work. This is heavi;y picked from her work with the Clara Lionel Foundation which she founded in 2012 in honour of her grandparents.
“Rihanna has not only enjoyed a ground-breaking career as an artist and musician but has also distinguished herself as a stellar public servant. From her business achievements through Fenty to her tremendous record as an activist and philanthropist. Rihanna epitomizes the type of character, grace and devotion to justice that we seek to highlight in our President’s Award,” a statement from Johnson.
