Yeap, all the real lovers of RnB stand up because that might be making a comeback through Ayanis and the queen who has never really left, Queen Naija. Ayanis and Queen Naija have teamed up for their new single ‘Lil Boi (Big Talk)’.
Both Ayanis and Queen Naija have given us a new-school sound of the TLC classic ‘No Scrubs’. Lil Boi is really embodiment of walk the talk and you either got it or you don’t.
The audio is an RnB sound to the core; from the vocal arrangement, the arrangement of the verse and the instrumentation. The producer gave us bass and the higher notes for Ayanis and Queen Naija to work with. These two have voices that could really come close to each other in their context of their comfortable range and so marrying their two voices sounds very seamless to the ear.
The video is Ayanis giving us Aaliyah vibes with her costumes and the dancing on the song. She has a highly choreographed video considering this as an RnB song. Everything on the video is crisp and clean; the make-up, the backgrounds, the colours and lighting and all the props used on set.
