Sauti Sol Signs Mega Deal with Universal Music Group

Celebrated Kenyan music band Sauti Sol has announced signing a major deal with World’s top music company; Universal Music Group.
In a tweet, Sauti Sol noted that it was their first ever record deal.
“It's official! Our first major label deal, UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP. Thank you guys for being patient. We really hope y'all are ready for the new album,” Sauti Sol tweeted.
The deal has placed Sauti Sol in Kenya’s history books, as the first Kenyan group to sign a deal with the global music company.
Sauti Sol now joins other top African musicians like; Tekno, Vanessa Mdee, Mr Eazi, Tiwa Savage, Stonebwoy and Diamond Platnumz, who are already signed by the global music giant.
Information on the company’s website indicates that it operates a broad array of businesses engaged in recorded music, music publishing, merchandising, and audiovisual content in more than 60 countries.
“We identify and develop recording artists and songwriters, and we produce, distribute and promote the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful music to delight and entertain fans around the world.
“Our vast catalog of recordings and songs stretches back over a century and comprises the largest, most diverse and culturally rich collection of music ever assembled,” the company’s about message read in part.
