Mdundo Dowload Awards 2019, Silver Category Full List.

The Mdundo Download Awards 2019 are out. Mdundo launched a mileage recognition initiative for artists in 2018. On account of downloads only on mdundo.com, artists have the opportunity to get recognized for their performance via the annual Mdundo Diamond, Gold and Silver Dowload Awards. 

2019 proved to be a competitive year with quite a number of rising artists breaking through the glass to be sensational  hits. Drawing in the highest number of new acts, is the Silver Category for artists with 100,000+ Downloads. 

Album releases, viral hits, collaborations and comebacks are just a few of the factors that have contributed to  both old and new artists attaining remarkable numbers in music consumption. 

In Kenya, 2019 was significant for the rise of Gengetone; and with that Sailors have made the cut for a Silver in just their first year in the music business. 

‘2019 has witnessed new artists taking up music seriously as a business. Artists have sacrificed and made investments in their music. Mdundo has had a number of artists support projects for rising artists and it is all clearly paying off.’ says Christine, Artist Support Manager at Mdundo

New territory sign ups such as Nigeria’s Simi and Mozambique’s Mr. Bow have as well, outdone themselves to settle in the Silver category in a record half a year. These renowned artists alongside new rising stars continue to work to make a mark and aim for the 2020 Gold and Diamond.
