Blankets and Wine Event has always been the ultimate experience when looking for a chilled and fun filled good time.
This year’s edition took place at the Nairobi, Ngong race course. The event was headlined by international act,Gold Link. The main act was supported by performances from Kagwe Mungai, Karun, Taio Tripper,Kabochi,Freesia Flow,Suraj,Basthma and Prisca Ojwang’.
Gates opened at 12:00PM and the first act to steal the show, was Kabochi’s performance. The artist literally abandoned the stage and joined his fans for a one on one, sing along with his fans. Kagwe had an energy filled performance that completely vibed with the crowd specifically during his ‘Baas’ performance.
At the end of Blinky Bill’s performance, Blankets had a surprise performance from Kenya’s Octopizzo. The ‘Wakiritho’ hitmaker, performed some of his greatest hits ; ‘Young Puffy’’and ‘Noma Ni. By the time Gold Link stepped on stage, the audience had been deeply marinated and ready to cook to ‘Crew’ and ‘Zulu Screams’
Gold Link did not disappoint his fans, as he arrived on time and gave a world class performance. He didn’t do much but bring energy to his act as the crowd did much of the sing(word for word).
Other highlights were the tribal face painting frenzy taking over the event. Fans really enjoyed the face painting sessions as most were covered in tribal mark paint. Drinks and food were in plenty, making the event really self contained. The security team kept everything in order ,in the event and the parking.
Kudos to Blankets and Wine for a fantastic experience ‘I really enjoyed myself’
