A pen only bends to the wish of the writer and so does music: you can only understand half of what the song writer intended, the rest most of the times remains a mystery, which mostly leads to controversy from genre to another; and rock music tops this list of controversial genres, because of its frequent use of euphenism and metophoric expessions.

So why not explore the genre by looking into one of Kenyas most accomplished Rock Bands, Parking Lot Grass and their latest song, "Rain Man"

"Rain Man is actually about the evil twin we all have like an alter ego whose voice towers over the faint voice of reason. When we usually find ourselves doing something unexpected of our nature and we always try to define what drove one to the actual deed; Christians refer to that as the ‘devil’ or ‘demons’ which leads them in to that temptation and the indulgence forthwith" Illuminated the Band.

As you can see there's more to the lyrics,

"We chose the term Rain Man since we can relate to it in our urban culture. A Rain Man is perceived as someone/something that makes any situation better with a little bit of indulgence be it in binge drinking, drug abuse, sexual deviancy and other vices with the help of material possessions and money just to make it worthwhile and more exciting beyond the consideration of our conscience minds. And when you finally indulge as the chorus explains, it most often ‘rains on your parade’ meaning consequences neglected when acting out the Rain Man induced frenzy quickly follow….then we always find someone to direct blame towards" they added.

There has always been alot of misconception around art where little knowledge or none is concerned, so i spared you the hustles and brought the knowledge first hand.
