Hailee Steinfeld ushers new decade with 'Wrong Direction' single

Hailee Steinfeld is many people’s favourite artist who only releases one song every year. She has however started off 2020 on the right track by releasing a new single dubbed ‘Wrong Drection’.
Wrong Direction is a very soulful song and we have Hailee putting down all her hurt and vulnerability into the song. It is also very raw in the context of the instrumentation Hailee and her producer settled on. It is almost fully acoustic with just a piano and violin as the most apparent instruments through the song. The chorus has a bit of build-up with a bit of added sounds and instrumentation.
The vocal arrangement is also very minimalistic. Hailee uses little to no harmonies for the song and they are only heard on the very last hook of the song. The acoustic nature of the song also gives Hailee a lot of vocal freedom and so she takes the chance to flex her vocal range both up and high; she has an amazing head voice.
