Nonso Amadi is one of the most pleasant alternative artists we have from Africa at the moment with a sound that can be comfortably be placed against 6Lack’s. Nonso Amadi is back at it with the release of the visuals to his song ‘Free’. The single is from his recently released EP titled Free.
Free marries afro-beats with a little Kwaito and ol’skool R&B vibes. His voice softly and almost lazily cruises over this laid back instrumentation. This combination is what gives Nonso Amadi and this song very alternative sound.
The video also takes on a very alternative touch in its direction and a bit of the props. It has a lot of cool and subtle colours that make even the very loud colours look very chill. The Esquire directed video has Nonso Amadi constantly running to a ‘Free’ which is frustrating to his love interest as it is to everyone in love.
