Unofficial Youtube Releases

In the same way we get to be treated to faux-items in real life, when you do get on your YouTube, you will notice the number of faux-videos on there. You will even find videos of collaborations that have never happened. This is of course click-bait and it works a lot of times, especially if you are really into the said musician.

These words are created by fandoms of musicians. This is when the musician has not released a video to a song they totally love or whatever song from their album that the fans realize will never be released in video form. What the fans do is put together short clips and/or photos of the artist at different stages or clips that have appeared on the artist’s social media. If they however relate to the song differently, they will put together photos or clips of people they associate the song to.

These videos receive many views and especially if it is a song the song is from an album and there are no signs for the video ever being shot. The collaborations video also receive a lot of views if the two artists mentioned are artists fans have thought for a while should work together.

However, this might take away from the views of the original song should an artist decide to release the official video of the song unless it is like Beyonce or Rihanna. For instance, there are videos of ‘Brown Skin Girl’ on the tube but I am sure when Wiz and Bey release the video it will still blow up.
