Kenyan artists miss out as Nigerians shine in The Lion King’s ‘The Gift’ album produced by Beyonce

Along with several new Beyoncé songs, the LP features contributions from Kendrick Lamar, Jay Z, Childish Gambino, 070 Shake, Tierra Whack, Pharrell and in addition, there’s a song with JAY and Bey’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

What’s even more interesting are the African stars featuring in the album. Although there are no Kenyan artists in the album despite the film drawing inspiration from Hells Gate National Park as reported by The Sauce, top Nigerian hitmakers are representing.

The African superstars on the album include Nigeria’s Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, Wiz Kid, Mr. Eazi, Tekno and Tiwa Savage. Ghana’s Shatta Wale and South Africa’s Busiswa.

‘The Lion King: The Gift’, executive produced by Beyoncé, is out this Friday, July 19th 2019 coinciding with the film’s release.

As reported by The Sauce, Beyonce impressed her fans with the release of the ‘Spirit’ music video in which her daughter Blue Ivy makes a cameo.
