Billboard Play The Spin on DJ Khaleed

By Ian Jacob

After enjoying a week of being number one, Dj Khaled’s album played second fiddle to Tyler the creator’s hip-hop album ‘IGOR'. The Mega producer was furious with the hostile take over that stripped his album of its reign and allegedly threatened to sue Billboard Hollywood Reporter Media Group for cheating him out of his No. 1 spot.

Billboard allegedly agreed to include Dj Khaled’s energy drink bundle promotion but then retracted on the deal ,disqualifying all the figures from the promotion. Khaled felt played as Tyler’s bundle deal counted in his total sales. Bundles sales is the digital or physical sale of album copies and this determines the ranking of albums on the Billboard chart. On 30th, May Billboard unveiled Tyler’s ‘IGOR' as No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 165,000 albums sold and Khaled’s ‘Father of Asahd ‘ bearing the bronze medal with 137,000 albums sold .

Dj Khaled’s fury stretched over to social media, In a video upload he claims he creates great music and not the ‘mysterious sh*t' that nobody hears (referencing ‘IGOR’) . Tyler then drops a subliminal on tweeter to silence the Mega producers tantrum. Tyler retweets a fans tweet “wow doing pretty good for some mysterious sh*t”. After continued threats, “Father of Asahd” was back in supremacy as the gold medalist in the Billboard charts.

It seems the beef is far from over as Dj Khaled is pretty much a ‘sour winner’ .Khaled boasts about surpassing ‘IGOR' on the charts, on June 8th 2019,Khaled posted a screenshot of Billboard Top Hip-hop albums to brag about having the best selling album.

He took a jab at the album bundles that helped Tyler beat Khaled by captioning the screenshot. “Fan Luv thank you for all your love and support,”he wrote. “We got the #1 Hip Hop album in the country this week! #FATHEROFASAHD TO THE WORLD! LION ORDER? @wethebestmusic @rocnation @epicrecors ANOTHER ONE! SUMMER IS OURS!”

Khaled added, “I’m in the music bizz not bundle bizz.”
