Anthony Kinyua, popularly known as Acoustic Kaysh is one fast rising star that is fun to watch. Winning the #MdundoNextLevel competition only brought his genius music skills to better light as a singer and songwriter. The offer at hand was fully paid for Studio Time at Kompakt Recordz; and the winners would use this opportunity to record an original. Acoustic Kaysh worked on a marvelous pop-gospel jam dubbed ‘Nimkimbilie Nani’.

Venturing professionally into music in 2012, Kaysh took a lean towards Afro-pop with a Jazz feel. His inspiration lies mostly in his spiritual journey writing lyrics with guidance from the holy book. Every artist has a formula for composing music; Kaysh begins by constructing melody then adding on rhythm and finally the lyrics. He will then play it to a few friends for opinions before hitting the studio.

Bragging of two albums ‘Dadie Knows Me’ 2012  and ‘Word in Genres’ 2017 with highlight songs like ‘Ni Leo Tu’, he is now working on his 3rd album and a monthly event that hosts Gospel artists at the Wida Highway Motel, in Kiambu Kenya.

Acoustic Kaysh has graced stages alongside renowned artists just to mention Pitson, Bire, Anto Neusol and Keam Kym. His list still has dream collaborations with Jonathan McReynolds, Travis Greene, Israel Haughton and Kierra Sheard.

#MdundoNextLevel brought to Kaysh’s attention, that he has quite a fan base. Most artists are persistent on their music out of passion but rarely do they notice how big their listenership is and its growth.

‘First of all I want to thank mdundo for the offer it means a lot to me for even taking me to one of the best production houses in Kenya. Where I can confidently market the song without worry due to its quality standards and I believe that this is my time to shine. That is I have never reached such standards that I have with the new song.’  says Acoustic Kaysh.
