BBC Announces Final Chapter of David Bowie Documentary Trilogy, 'The First Five Years'
9 October 2018

BBC's latest David Bowie documentary will highlight the first five years of the icon's career. The third and final chapter of the trilogy will air on the network in 2019.
The Francis Whatley-directed flick follows his past two docs, The Last Five Years, which was acquired by HBO, and David Bowie: Five Years in 2013. The First Five Years clocks in at about 90 minutes, and unravels Bowie before Ziggy Stardust from when he changed his name from David Jones to Bowie in 1966.
The doc will feature unheard audio recordings, unpublished documents and exclusive interviews with the star's family, girlfriends, boyfriends and early collaborators--many of whom have never spoken publicly about him before.Footage of a 1965 BBC audition of David Bowie and the Lower Third is also in the mix, including a performance of Chim-Chim-Cheree and Baby That’s A Promise.
