KENYA: Sauti Sol and Akothee Lead the List of Kenyan Artists Nominated for the AFRIMMA Awards

The African Music Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) has gradually become one of the most glamorous and anticipated award ceremonies in the continent.

Now on its third edition, the 2016 AFRIMMA Awards considers artists from all genres across Africa. From Afropop, Bongo Flava, Highlife, Kwaito, Lingala among many others.

This year has seen Kenya bag a total of 16 nominations in 13 categories, with Sauti Sol leading the charge with five nominations.

Akothee comes as a surprise pick for the awards is second with two award nominations while King Kaka, Octopizzo, Willy Paul, Visita, Victoria Kimani, DJ Joe Mfalme, Enos Olik all with one nomination each.
