KENYA: Rufftone Reacts to Bahati Quiting Gospel Music and Speaks About Beef in Gospel Industry

The New Year has not been good to the Gospel Industry. In an industry where most artist are supposed to be ministering peace, love, unity and the word of the All Mighty, the last three weeks have seen nothing but stories of beefing, fighting and even evil plots to destroy one another.

If you have been keeping abreast with the news, you already know that I am talking about Bahati’s announcement to quit Gospel music alleging a plot by fellow Gospel artists to destroy his career.

“At this rate, this hate will even get me killed. If they can even go to an extend of looking for my relatives and other people close to me to bribe them and have them cook lies about me, then aren’t they ready to do anything to finish me.”

Those were the words of Bahati that rocked the Gospel Industry and sparked all sorts of rumors about the artists that could be after him last week.

Among those whose names popped up in the apparent plot to end Bahati’s career was veteran Gospel artist Rufftone.

According to the rumor, Rufftone had been angered by Bahati’s actions last year of accusing his younger brother Daddy Owen of not sharing royalties from hit song ‘Mbona’ with Denno.

However speaking to Citizen Radio’s Mambo Mseto host Willy M. Tuva in a live interview last week, Rufftone seemed to have a different tone.

Tuva asked Rufftone what his reaction to hearing the news of Bahati quitting Gospel was and Rufftone who was last year accused of rebuking Bahati after the ‘Mbona-controversy’ shockingly referred to Bahati as his younger brother and even encouraged him to fight and keep ministering through his music.

Speaking about beef in the Gospel industry, the ‘Mwikulu’ hit maker said that all gospel artists are humans and therefore fighting in the industry happens from time to time but above all else artists should remember their purpose.
