EXCLUSIVE THROWBACK SPECIAL (KENYA): H_art The Band First Of The Mdundo Artists To Receive A Platinum Award!

This morning the Mdundo offices were graced by the phenomenal soul whispering band, H_art The Band! The group was here to receive a Platinum award for having more than 50,000 downloads ever since they joined Mdundo!

Having met back in 2012, H_art The Band made up of Kenchez, Mordecai and Wachira has over the past 3 years evolved to be one of the most diverse, unique and lovable bands in Nairobi. What's even more inspiring other than the fact that they sing from the soul, is that the first song they ever put up on Mdundo was not a studio edit! They recorded it at the Mdundo offices and we put it up as raw as it was! This however didn't stop good music lovers from pressing the download button.

With both Mordecai and Wachira having been crowned “Slam Africa Kings”, H_ART’s music is heavily inspired by spoken word poetry. Self taught guitarist Kenchez compliments the rhymes with smooth, danceable tunes and some undeniable Luhya swag. Everywhere H_ART performs, they leave a lasting impression. Crowds love the versatility of the performances that make them doubt the stretches of reality and the extent of how good an artist can be.
