Canadian Rapper Drake and Wizkid finally came closer, as the two were spotted all smiles hanging out at an event in London yesterday.

The “daddyo” hit maker also took his instagram to post a couple of pictures of them both and congratulated Drake on his latest album, it reads,

Congratulations @champagnepapi !!  more everything!!

One would think after many collaborations, forming a friendship and hanging out wouldn’t be a problem but that’s not so with the Canadian and star boy.

Their first collaborative work was two years ago, when they worked on Drake’s  One Dance, one of the most iconic songs of his career, but fans were disappointed when the Nigerian star was left out of the video.

Fans were yet again left disappointed, when their second collaboration, this time on Wizzy’s song “come closer”, did not feature Drake in the video, leading fans to speculate the two had actually never met neither were they friends.

Star boy dismissed such claims in an interview earlier this year when asked about it, saying he didn’t feel the need to validate his friendship with the rapper by taking photos, he was quoted saying,

‘I met Drake through Skepta, to be honest. He played my music to Drake, and he was like ‘yeah’. Skepta has been my brother even way before. Hearing that was pretty sick and amazing. I met him (Drake), it was in the club at a private party, and it was good vibes. He is cool with people too, great vibes. Big shout out to Drake and the whole OVO crew.’

Surprising right? since both singers post images of themselves and other artists they hang out with and to think Drake had met Tekno whom he’s yet to work with, but why post pictures this time around.

On his latest album which is breaking records and inspiring challenges, Drake thanked both Tekno and Wizkid as some of the inspirations behind the album.

And rightly so, since he borrowed some words from wizzy’s song “Gucci snake” a single believed to be of the Nigerian’s upcoming album.
