KENYA: Taboo Singer Phy to Voice a Cartoon

Fast rising music star Phyllis Mwihaki better known as PHY has bagged yet another job as a voice over artist. The 23 year old has been chosen as the lead female voice over artiste for a literacy training game called SEMA.

The animations narrative brings children on a magical adventure inspired by the local culture where she voices two characters in the game.

It has been in her wildest dreams to do something of the kind and the contract was more than she bargained for. She said, “My dream growing up was to give my voice to a cartoon! Being the voice to SEMA and contributing to tech so many children is more than what I had dreamed!”

 Phy is constantly rising to better things and always on the grind, she was recently featured on the CNN voices in January which she said, was one of her biggest achievements so far. The singer is also a very competitive one as she emerged a winner for Maisha Superstar and was a runner up for Airtel Trace Music star.

The Taboo singer has also had a stint with theatre as she featured in one of the leading musicals in 2016 Tinga Tinga Tales the Musical as one of the lead characters, the giraffe. She has kept her options open and is since growing her brand as she dabbles in different entertainment gigs.
