Who is Celestine Donkor?
Celestine Donkor is a Ghanaian gospel singer and songwriter. She is also a preacher and minister who is known for her extensive contribution to the gospel industry. The singer is a founder of the popular annual gospel music known as the Celestial Praise. She was ranked among the most influential public figures in Ghana by the 3Music Awards.

Celestine Donkor was born in the Volta region in Ghana to a family of Mr. Gabriel Akakpo and Mrs. Hanna Akakpo. She has an impressive educational background. She attended St Augustine Preparatory school before joining Nsaaniya Secondary Business School. She eventually graduated with a degree in BA Sociology and Information Studies from the University of Ghana.

The gospel music star was singing in churches and crusades during the better part of her teen years. She officially made her debut in music while at the age of 16 years after she met Mr. Fred Kyei Mensah alias Fredyma. The vocalist during a past interview admitted that her music career took a new turn after the meeting. She started out as a backup singer before she pursued music as an independent artist. Serving as a backup singer taught her a lot of skills that proved useful later on. Apart from the skills she gained, she also got the chance to interact with established artists and widened her network in the industry.

In a recent interview, the singer narrated how her first song ‘Super Natural’ was rejected by the church. This did not stop her from preaching through her songs in the best way she understood. She continued releasing songs that went on to dominate various music charts.

Celestine Donkor is married to Mr. Emmanuel Donkor who is an imports and exports businessman. The two are currently blessed with two daughters called Ohemaa and Maa Adwoa. During a past interview, the singer revealed that she met her husband online. The two had a long-distance relationship for a while before they met. She has often encouraged the youth to be patient and understanding when it comes to love.

The music minister has grown to serve as a role model to many upcoming musicians especially those in gospel music. The majority of the singers draw inspiration from her music journey and also the content of her songs.
