Who is DJ NEPTUNE?
Real name, Imohiosen Patrick, DJ Neptune is a famed Nigerian disc jockey and record producer. Originally from Edo state, he was born and raised in Lagos State, Nigeria in a family of four of which he is the last with three elder sisters. He is married to Ese Imohiosen since December 2012.

DJ Neptune studied Mass Communication at the University before going ahead to fully venture into djing, becoming a professional disc jockey in 2001 after excelling under the tutelage of UK based DJ Douglas.

DJ Neptune was fully introduced to the scene and started making waves during his time at Ray Power FM where he worked as the radio station’s in house DJ for six years, from 2014 to 2010.

After his spell with Ray Power FM, he was signed by one of Nigeria’s hottest rap properties at the time, Naeto C and he served as the rapper’s official disc jockey. He started putting out promotional mixtapes online for free downloads. His mixtapes catered for different genres and seasons like Christmas, Easter, Ramadan etc. His promotional mixtape releases gave him more audience and with time he built a fan base and audience who now anticipated his releases.

From mixtape releases, DJ Neptune moved to collaborating with artists for new music. He would either contribute to the production of the song or other creative processes involved in making a record. This formula rewarded him with a number of hit records with the earliest being 123 Remix featuring M.I, Naeto C and Dagrin of blessed memory. His records Why featuring Runtown and Wait featuring Kizz Daniel became massive hits as at the time of release.

On the 25th of May 2018, DJ Neptune released his first studio album, a fifteen track album titled Greatness. The project featured a total of twenty seven artists from Nigeria, Angola, Tanzania, Kenya and Ghana. A careful selection of artists to blend in records, the Greatness album is tagged as one of Naija’s best projects with an impressive blend of collaborations. The album also housed three solid hit records; Wait feat Kizz Daniel, Tear Rubber feat Mayorkun and Why feat Runtown which was added a bonus track.

Not afraid to try something new, DJ Neptune on the 6th of November 2020 put together thirteen different remixes of his hit record “Nobody” (which originally featured Mr Eazi and Joeboy) and turned into a project he tagged Nobody: The Extended Playlist (Worldwide Remixes). “Nobody” won the award for Best Pop Single at The Headies 2020. His sophomore album Greatness 2.0 was released on the 26th of November 2021.
