Multiple Award-winning dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has officially announced his comeback to music and addressed his fans on the state of the music industry in Ghana.
The self–acclaimed king of dancehall who had recently made a comeback from a social media break inspired by his vacation spoke about the state of the industry and the challenges Covid 19 has posed to the Ghana Music Industry.
According to Shatta Wale, artistes should not just sit back and wait for the pandemic to come to an end before they can start making music again. He emphasized the need for musicians to be creative and find ways to continue making music even in challenging times.
Even though Shatta Wale himself recently went to Miami, it was all business as he held a meeting with some business associates and shot three music videos and recorded five songs for his upcoming 'GOG' album. He further shared his concerns on the lack of creativity and uniqueness in the Ghanaian music industry.
He said, “About a month ago, I took a break off social media as part of management’s decision to enable me to focus on work-related to my next album, The GOG. And so, the break was purely on professional grounds as decided by management. But today, I am happy to announce that Shatta Wale is back online. You can catch me and stay updated on all my social media platforms.”
“I was in business meetings with different foreign stakeholders and investors. And one question they all seemed to ask was what kind of music do Ghanaians do?”
Shatta wale revealed that his upcoming album will be released before the end of the year and features great music giants such as Popcaan, Naira Marley, and some other names that he did not want to mention yet.
