Celebrated Ugandan rapper Gravity Omutujju has claimed that the reigning peace among the youth in the country is as a result of his song 'Tewekalakasa'.

'Tewekalakasa' (loosely translated from Luganda to mean 'Do not riot') was released in January urging Ugandans to maintain peace during the electioneering period.

According to Gravity, he paused the campaigns after the elections because his song had a great impact among Ugandan leading to end of riots. Therefore, he opines that the campaign was no longer useful.

"No one is rioting because the song is still in circulation. Every time the youth want to go on the streets, they hear this song and rethink. Besides I'm still moving this campaign and warning them not to dare strike because we shall look for them," Gravity told Spark TV.

"I still move among the youths and show them the dangers of riots. Most of them testify that my song played a huge role in their lives," he added.
