Awilo Longomba Expresses Admiration for Diamond, Alikiba

Congolese musician Awilo Longomba has expressed his admiration for the bongo music industry. According to the veteran musician, he is inspired by the bongo sound, and he wishes to work with several artists from the country.

Speaking on arrival in Tanzania, Awilo stated that he is already in talks with several bongo musicians on a possible collaboration. However, the Lingala maestro did not give specific names who he plans to work with.

The singer who is in Tanzania for a movie shoot stated that his favorite bongo musician is Diamond Platnumz. He also named Alikiba and Harmonize as some of the bongo artists he admires.

“I'm ready to work with any Tanzanian. For the collaboration Awilo is here and ready to go the studio and kill it. There are many, one is the popular Simba Diamond Platnumz, Harmonize, Ali Kiba...I also met with Rosa Ree in Nigeria,” said Awilo.

The singer is the latest Congolese artist to express interest in working with bongo musicians. This comes just months after Koffi Olomide worked with Diamond on the chart-topping  ‘Waah’ single that has become a continental hit.

Furthermore, Nandy also worked with Olomide on the ‘Leo Leo’ single.
