Tom Close Bags Icon Award at 2020 Choice Awards

Barely a month after his musical comeback, Tom Close real name Thomas Muyobo has won the Icon award in the recently concluded 2020 Rwanda Choice Awards.
He shared the news on his Instagram page thanking fans for their support.
“Munyemerere mbasangize iki gihembo nahawe na @isibotvofficial nka #Icon muri entertainment industry y'u Rwanda by'umwihariko mu muziki nyarwanda. Indirimbo nshya nazo ziri mu nzira,” he posted.

Tom recently released ‘Naughty Girl’ featuring Babou T King after months of missing in action.
According to Tom, he took a music break due to his first career as a health care provider which kept him very busy especially due to breakout of Covid-19 in Rwanda.
The ‘KomezaUtsinde’ hit maker also said that being a family man has complicated this equation in ways he did not expect before.

However, he holds that he is not about to quit music even with his busy schedule.
“Let them not worry because I am still a musician despite having other responsibilities. I have been juggling music with books, family and my professional job for years, and nothing can change me from recording music because it’s all about good planning,” he told KT Press.
