Legendary Tanzanian rapper Chege Chigunda has explained why he called out leading bongo musicians in his latest EP ‘Burudani’.

On Thursday, Chege dropped the ‘Burudani’ EP where he pleaded with Alikiba, Harmonize and Diamond to unite for a better bongo music scene.

In the wake of the EP release, Chege stated that he hates to see the bongo music scene turn into personal beef involving name-calling and disrespect.

Chege added that personal beefs within the bongo music scene has led to a decline in standards.

“Mimi nilikuwa nakumbusha watu wapendane...kuna beef tofauti, kuna beef ya biashara na beef personal...mimi sipendi beef personal...sifurahi kuona beef zozote personal...kitu kinacho wabeba wa Nigeria ni ukosefu wa beef personal,” said Chege.

Initially, the rivalry in the bongo music scene was mainly between Diamond and Alikiba. However, since Harmonize ditched WCB, there exists a rivalry between the Konde Worldwide boss and Diamond.
