End Special Anti-Robbery Squad (End SARS) or #EndSARS is a decentralized social movement against police brutality in Nigeria. The slogan calls for an end to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a controversial unit of the Nigerian Police Force with a long record of abuses.

In the last two or three weeks you find hash tagged End SARS posts all over social media. This has trended as young Nigerians were joined by many other people around the world to fight for an end to the police brutality.

Ghanaian musician Sarkodie had kept quiet on all that online protests and had not said anything in public that shows if he is either in support or against the protests until on October 21 when Sarkodie quote a tweeted tweet from Oxlade which was a video of a man being abused by Nigerian police officers.

“Sorry my brother,” he said. “We stand with you, it’s insane and inhumane what’s going on out there,” he added without using the End SARS hashtag but he chose to finish the tweet with an emoji of the Nigerian flag.
Sarkodie later tweeted; “It is really crazy what’s still going on out there in Nigeria. RIP to Lives lost and strength to those still fighting for justice… God b(e) with you,” this time in his tweet he added the End SARS hashtag
