Renowned Zambian hip hop star and rapper King Illest has thrown an unexpected move on his fans after rallying Zambians to support fellow rapper, Slapdee whom he has had a long standing beef with.

Slapdee was nominated for the Annual African Musik Magazine Awards and Music Festival (AFRIMMA) awards in the “Best Male Southern Africa” category alongside sassy musical queen, Bombshell Grenade who was also nominated in the “Best Female Rap Act” category.

Surprisingly, King Illest touted to be the “baddest King of hip hop in the South” took to his social media handles and rallied support from his fans.

“Done my part y’all know what to do…vote!!!” he posted.

This was such a big deal because King Illest and Slapdee are sworn rivals who throw shade at each other on every opportunity they get, be it in public or on social media.

Slapdee (real name Mwila Musonda) is a multi-award-winning hip hop artiste with more than 15 years in the industry.

Many say that he is the “father of hip hop” in Zambia and has received numerous nominations for various wards over the years. Slapdee has six albums to his name and regional brand ambassador for Kung Fu Energy drink and Itel brand phones, all thanks to his stunning musical career.
