Early this year, Ugandan songstress, vocalist and guitarist Irene Ntale shared some cash with her fans on social media to help them get through the tough times as a result of the corona virus pandemic.

She, however, notes that the idea was not a great one as it brought tremendous challenges her way.

According to Irene, she did consult her management before giving out the cash, and eventually had to pay the price of her rushed decision.

"I did give money to my fans and that is something I will never repeat again. I will never! I had some spare money which I actually needed but I chose to share,” she said.

Justifying why she will never issue cash to her fans again, Ntale noted that after she gave out the money, people flooded her inbox begging for support.

"I gave out like 400k in small doses and I felt good but it really overwhelmed me because people kept on coming and asking for money. I kept on wondering what I had gotten myself into because I'm not rich," she said.

She, however, noted that the experience taught her how to plan and decide what to prioritize on.

"Right now I know what my priorities are. I now know what I have to do, who I can lean on. This has helped me filter my crowd and circle. I now know the useless friends and I've kept on dropping off all these useless people,” she divulged.
