Desire Luzinda has not only made a name in music, but also is in philanthropy, where she is one of the few female artistes that have openly advocated for women's rights and health.

To raise awareness on menstrual health and to support the underprivileged young girls, Desire Luzinda has teamed up with fellow artiste Sheebah Karungi through her pads company, Holic Pads.

In their '500 pads for 500 girls' campaign, 250 pads were handed over to Nurture The Girl Child Foundation Uganda, (founded by students at Uganda Christian University Mukono) on Desire Luzinda's behalf.

"An empowered girl requires good hygiene and with good hygiene comes good physical and social health. We are grounded in love and free from judgment, with the understanding that every girl has the ability to reach their full potential. We are committed to our girls, our community and helping others.

"We believe that we will be influential in reversing the statistics that apply to our young minority girls, one life at a time. But it’s also not just a girl thing, anyone has the ability to make a difference in someone’s life and giving back to the community; therefore, we invite men as well. As Holic Pads we are here to make a difference. Thank you @desireluzinda for being part of this mission by not just typing or saying it but truly walking it," Sheebah said.
