Bongo star Alikiba has explained to fans why he takes about 7-8 months before producing new music.

In an interview with Bongo 5, Alikiba noted that he takes a long period of time before releasing new jams to allow his other songs get the much needed traction, and airtime.

He further noted that he has not been releasing music back to back because he needs to maximize revenues from his songs.

He has, however, broken his long-standing tradition of spacing his new music releases.

Two months ago, he released his viral ‘Dodo’ hit, and on Monday dropped a new club banger dubbed ‘So hot’.

Speaking during an interview on Tuesday, Alikiba said releasing the new song was part of his plans coming into 2020.

He noted that the song seeks to help people cope with the effects of the Coronavirus lockdowns.

“Mwaka wa 2020 nilikuwa na mpango wa kutoa ngoma kimtindo huu. Nilikuwa na mpango huu lakini Corona ikatokea. Natoa mziki mpya kwa ajili ya mashabilki. Nitaendelea kufanya hivi hadi mwisho. (For 2020, I had plans to release my music in this manner but Corona disrupted everything. I release music for the sake of fans and I will continue doing this towards the end),” said Alikiba.
