Since joining the music industry, Wasafi president Diamond Platinumz has been thriving to hit international status.
Based on this progress, Diamond without a doubt joins the debate on who is the biggest African musician?
Recently, a Ugandan Twitter user by the name Sharon Godwin caused a storm after claiming that the ‘Jeje’ singer is on his own league when compared to other African acts.
She went ahead to state that Chibu is even bigger than Nigeria’s Burna Boy who hit the global scene with his ‘African Giant’ album.
Her post elicited a lot of reactions, with fans coming out to defend their picks. Based on the reactions to the post, it is clear that this debate will not be ending anytime soon.
However, in this article, we look at some of the things that separate Diamond and Burna Boy.
It is worth mentioning that the success of the two musicians is based on their hard work, authenticity, convictions, and connections with fans.
Currently, Diamond is the King of streams. He is the only musician from Africa eyeing the one billion views mark on YouTube. Additionally, his songs usually trend on other leading streaming platforms.
In regards to collaborations, Diamond has presence across Africa based on his features that have opened up his fan base in other countries. His notable collabos are with Neyo, Rick Ross, Burna Boy, Patotanking, AKA among others.

There is no doubt that Diamond is big on talent management. The success of Wasafi artiste does not need explanations.
On the other hand, Burna Boy’s ‘African Giant’ album opened doors for him. He earned a Grammy nomination alongside a chance to perform on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show that has hosted the likes of Rihanna.
He even won the BET award for the Best International Act. At the same time, the album introduced him to new artistes like Ed Sheran releasing several collabos.
