Since the lock down begun, online concerts are the in-thing right now. But do we know who championed these concerts in Uganda? Do we give credit to the right person?

Legendary vocalist and songwriter Omulangira Suuna alias OS is not happy with Ugandan artistes on this issue.

The 'January to December' hit maker having been the very first artiste in Uganda to hold an online concert, believes that he is not receiving enough credit for his idea.

In an interview with Spark, Omulangira Suuna pleaded with artistes especially those bigger than him, to at least make him proud for his idea by giving him a shout out during these concerts.

"I pioneered the online performance, artistes have adopted it which is very good but you have to credit the person who started the whole thing so that others jump on the band wagon. I'm happy to see that artists who are bigger than me are doing it too but I think that artistes should put their egos aside and credit that person. But I think everyone speaking about it on social media should give the credit to me, this makes me proud,” he said.

"We do not pay or earn money in these concerts but we are paid through the royalties on YouTube. But I was lucky that after my show, some people sent me money on my Mobile Money account which was very beautiful and showed me that at least some people appreciate,” he added.
