‘I’m Ready’ essentially is a song about wanting to love, knowing what kind of love you deserve, and being hopeful that it will find you because you are ready for it all. This could be contextualized different as Sam Smith and Demi Lovato did with the video.
The Jora Frantzis directed video is set in an Olympic gym. We get to enjoy wrestling, track races, gymnastics and synchronized swimming. The video is also very well incorporative of Sam Smith’s life. It includes male dancers in heels and drag queens.
The PRETTYBIRD produced song is a strong pop sound with fun beats laid over a strong bass drop and claps on a count. Demi Lovato and Sam Smith have their voices well synchronized from the beginning to the end of the song where they harmonize after the beat is cut. Sam allows Demi to belt and plays out his voice in a lovely way to match hers.
