Uganda is currently on a lock down with the largest group of the population not working.

Among the many groups of people that have cried out to the government for relief include; artistes who noted that their shows and festivals have had to be cancelled, therefore no earnings for them.

While some artistes having been requesting the government to step in and support them, others believe that all Ugandans are affected, and it is inappropriate for artistes to ask for support.

Legendary gospel musician Pastor Wilson Bugembe blasted artistes seeking for support from the government, noting that they were embarrassing themselves.

“This is a general problem, unless when the president is your personal friend but you should not be begging publicly because it i embarrassing. Just like you, no one is working," Bugembe said.

The 'Omwooyo' hit maker also encouraged fellow artistes to save some money while they still can to avoid such circumstances.

“This should also teach us a lesson, we should learn how to save and work. I have a garden and I'm very happy that I'm distributing food to different families. We should just stop shaming ourselves by begging the president for money. Just beg individually/privately and stop giving excuses that you are not working because everyone is in quarantine. Maybe, you should call your mum or other relatives or your friends for help and stop begging," he opined.

Uganda is currently on the lock down, with the government is doing its best to distribute food stuff to the less fortunate.
