Last week during the State of the nation address, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni requested Ugandans to donate first-hand four-wheel-drive cars through the National Task Force on COVID-19, to provide transport to the health workers, the sick and supplies amidst the corona virus pandemic.

Band singer Catherine Kusasira is among the many well-wishers who have offered to help for this good cause.

She donated her car; a Land Cruiser V8 (which was given to her by the president), to help transport pregnant women and sick mothers in areas of Makindye, during this period that public and private transport has been banned.

In addition, Kusasira together with Hill water donated 500 boxes of mineral water to be distributed to the sick people in hospitals and health workers handling the COVID-19 patients.

While donating these items, the 'Tears of a Woman' hit maker advised everyone to stay home and keep safe.

“I ask everyone out there, we should stay home as the government advised us to. This looks like your freedom is being infringed on but it is for your own benefit. Let us stay home so that we can meet again alive,” Catherine Kusasira said during a TV interview.

She also apologised once again for the statements she made asking the government to compensate artistes because of the cancelled shows.
